Finland has excellent mobile coverage and fast internet, even in Lapland. Staying connected is easy — here are your options.

EU roaming

If you have an EU/EEA mobile plan, roaming works in Finland at no extra cost ("roam like at home"). For many European visitors, you don't need to do anything.

Local SIM or eSIM

Non-EU visitors can buy a cheap prepaid Finnish SIM (DNA, Elisa, Telia) at the airport, shops or kiosks, or use an eSIM bought online before you travel — the easiest option for most.

Wi-Fi

Free Wi-Fi is widespread in hotels, cafés and public spaces. Coverage in the wilderness on tours can be patchy, which is part of the charm.

A note for aurora nights
