Typical temperatures
- Oct–Nov: around 0 to -10°C, with the first snow.
- Dec–Feb: the coldest, -10 to -25°C, occasionally below -30°C on still, clear nights.
- Mar–Apr: milder, -5 to +5°C, with deep snow and bright days.
Why it feels manageable
Finland's cold is a dry cold, which feels less biting than a damp cold at the same temperature. And there's little wind inland, so wind chill is usually modest.
